We are a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Controls Engineer
. This position reports to the Director of Engineering and will work in Pompano Beach, FL.
As Controls Engineer of the Pompano Beach, FL team, you will be responsible for defining functional and performance requirements, coordinating system-level design and schematics, and ensuring seamless integration of electronics, software, refrigeration systems, and mechanical components.
This individual would need to identify what could be done in house and what partnerships we would need then lead those partnerships. The individual will need to be able to manage internal and external resources with good product management skills. Keeping projects on schedule and meeting deadlines is key to a successful product launch.
General Responsibilities- Define functional, performance, and control requirements for HVAC systems.
- Translate HVAC thermodynamic behavior into engineering specifications.
- Design, tune, and validate HVAC control algorithms.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and communication protocols.
- Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams.
- Support production launch and manufacturing readiness.
- Develop and review test plans, drawings, and support documentation.
- Support firmware updates and troubleshooting on legacy products on as needed basis
- Lead troubleshooting and aftersales technical support.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in an engineering environment. Additionally, they will have acquired the following qualifications and experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, ora related field.
- Handson experience with HVAC or refrigeration systems, including thermodynamics, pressure/temperature relationships,componentbehavior, and system diagnostics.
- Experience defining system level requirements and translating HVAC behavior into control logic or software specifications.
- Familiarity with embedded control systems, microcontrollers, and software/hardware interfaces.
- Experience integrating or troubleshooting PLC-based or embedded control systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff experience a plus).
- Understanding of communication interfaces (CAN, J1939, NMEA2K, Modbus, SPI, I2C, etc.).
- Experience with HVAC system testing, instrumentation, data logging, and analysis.
- Experience writing or reviewing test plans and control strategies.
- Strong understanding of software design, development, validation, and documentation
- Experience in programming with C / C++
- Understanding ofindustrial automation fundamentals and the ability to interface embedded firmware with
PLC-controlled equipment.
