Senior Geotechnical Engineer

STV is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support a $3-$5-billion-dollar project delivering high-quality infrastructure.

• Assist the Geotechnical Engineering Manager in guiding geotechnical engineering efforts, including site investigations, soil testing, and foundation design.
• Ensure compliance with geotechnical standards, specifications, and best practices.
• Provide expertise and guidance to the geotechnical team during project planning, developing the scope, units, and staff hours, and performing negotiations with the design team.
• Provide technical guidance on ground improvement, slope stability, and foundation systems.
• Collaborate with structural and roadway engineers to integrate geotechnical solutions into design plans.
• Review geotechnical reports, calculations, and design recommendations.
• Identify geotechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support project permitting, stakeholder coordination, and construction oversight as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, including leadership roles in infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or the ability to obtain one within six months.
• Expertise in geotechnical analysis, foundation design, and soil-structure interaction.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, LPILE, Geo Studio, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of geotechnical standards, specifications, and design criteria.
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills to address complex subsurface challenges.
