Financial Controller

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly capable Controller to join our Pompano Beach, FL-based team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial accuracy, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the continued growth and scalability of our platform.

The Controller is responsible for general ledger oversight, reconciliations, financial reporting, Excel-based analysis, compliance, and special projects across a multi-entity operating structure. This role requires a strong foundation in GAAP accounting, experience supporting multi-location service businesses, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, highly organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely journal entries
• Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, including bank accounts, AP, intercompany transactions, and other balance sheet accounts
• Lead and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Prepare financial statements, management reporting, and variance analyses
• Oversee payroll-related accounting and incentive/commission calculations in accordance with internal policies
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements for multi-unit service operations

• Support accounting and reporting across multiple legal entities and gym locations
• Ensure consistent accounting treatment and chart of accounts usage across the platform
• Partner with operations to improve financial visibility at the location level
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis

• Maintain internal controls and accounting best practices to ensure financial integrity
  
  Support external audits, tax filings, and lender or investor reporting requirements
• Lead or contribute to special projects requiring financial analysis or system improvements
• Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve efficiency across accounting and finance functions

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• Public accounting experience preferred
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience; multi-location or multi-entity experience strongly preferred
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
• Advanced Excel skills, including analysis of large datasets; strong desire to be a power user
• Solid understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP and accounting systems (Sage Intacct and Ramp preferred)
• Strong systems mindset with the ability to drive process improvements
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable solving novel problems

• Competitive compensation: +90k-120k annual salary.
• Office located in Pompano Beach, FL (on-site, full-time required). Must be mobile within two weeks if the applicant is out of state.
