Actively looking to hire an Accounting and Finance Lead in the Coral Springs, FL area! This is an onsite role working Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm EST!
The Accounting and Finance Lead serves as the primary accounting and finance contact for the organization, overseeing day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and cash flow management. This role ensures accurate financial close processes, strong internal controls, and reliable financial data to support informed business decisions. The individual works closely with operations, vendors, banks, and external partners to analyze financial information, resolve discrepancies, and align accounting processes with operational and inventory activities.
This position offers a strong opportunity for growth and advancement into a Controller role.
- Lead and complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closings in an accurate and timely manner.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics and reports as requested by leadership and operations.
- Support operations by performing inventory adjustments and transfers as requested, ensuring alignment between accounting records and physical inventory.
- Record vendor invoices promptly to ensure accurate and timely accounts payable processing.
- Oversee accounts receivable to ensure all invoices are collected promptly, including making weekly calls and sending emails to customers to collect outstanding balances.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure cash accounts are accurate and up to date.
- Record and reconcile line of credit (LOC) payments, maintaining accurate records of borrowings and repayments.
- Maintain a strong system of controls over accounting transactions, including reconciling general ledger balances with customer and supplier sub‑ledgers during the month.
- Complete and submit accurate financial statements for internal and external reporting purposes.
- Calculate and pay sales tax in compliance with applicable regulations and deadlines.
- Provide and maintain a system of management cost reports to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
- Deliver ad‑hoc financial analysis as needed, particularly related to capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Oversee that reports of federal unemployment taxes are prepared, submitted, and paid on time.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, vendors, banks, and external partners to resolve discrepancies and support business decisions.
- Ensure accounting processes effectively support operational activities, including inventory management and cost tracking.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; the degree requirement may be waived with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, including familiarity with inventory‑related accounting.
- Exposure to or experience with DVA Manufacturing or similar manufacturing‑related systems or concepts.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple deadlines, and manage the full close process.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial data and reporting.
- Motivation to grow into increased responsibility, with a clear path toward a future Controller role.
This position operates in both a manufacturing environment and an office setting, providing exposure to operational activities as well as traditional office‑based financial work. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role involves regular collaboration with operations and other departments, as well as interaction with external partners such as vendors and banks, in a professional and business‑oriented environment.
This is a Contract position based out of Coral Springs, FL.
The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $45.67/hr.
