John Knox Village is a not-for-profit Life Care Retirement Community offering a full range of independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care options for more than 1,000 senior residents on our 70-acre campus, located in Pompano Beach, convenient to major highways and transportation options.

Being a Mechanic at John Knox Village is a rewarding and professional career where you play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our residents. A typical day includes performing preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance on all facility systems and equipment, ensuring everything runs smoothly. You will also initiate necessary repairs, demonstrating your expertise and problem-solving skills. In addition, you will take responsibility for completing and maintaining AHCA documentation and the facilities Task List monthly, showcasing your commitment to excellence and compliance.

To be successful as a Mechanic at John Knox Village, candidates should possess 3-5 years of maintenance and operations experience, ideally within a healthcare facility, with a strong understanding of AHCA regulations. A working knowledge of various systems—including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, HVAC, plumbing, and sewage—is essential, as you'll be responsible for a range of tasks requiring technical expertise. Familiarity with relevant codes and standards ensures compliance and safety in all operations.

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance will help you excel in this role, while effective communication skills will enable collaboration with team members and residents alike. Your ability to tackle challenges and prioritize tasks will be crucial in maintaining the high standards of service that our community deserves.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• 3-5 years of maintenance and operations experience
