Headquartered in Pompano Beach, we’re looking for a Chief Development Officer (CDO) who thrives in high-growth environments, understands commercial real estate strategy, and has a proven track record scaling multi-site retail or commercial operations. This role is ideal for someone who understands site selection, lease negotiation, landlord relations, municipal approvals, and development timelines, and is able to execute expansion at speed without compromising quality.

POSITION

OVERVIEW

Are you a strategic development leader who knows how to take a site from market analysis to grand opening?

Amped Fitness is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) who can drive our real estate and expansion strategy nationwide. You will oversee site selection, lease negotiations, municipal approvals, and development processes while ensuring seamless coordination between landlords, city officials, construction teams, and executive leadership. This role requires someone with deep knowledge of commercial real estate, permitting processes, zoning, and multi-unit rollout strategies who can translate growth goals into executed deals.

Your leadership will bridge real estate strategy with operational execution to accelerate our national footprint.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As CDO, develop and execute a comprehensive real estate and development strategy aligned with company expansion goals.
  • Lead site selection, market analysis, and feasibility studies for new club locations.
  • Negotiate commercial leases, LOIs, and related agreements while building and maintaining strong landlord and broker relationships.
  • Chief Development Officer will be required to frequently travel to real estate events throughout the year.
  • Oversee entitlements, permitting, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Serve as the executive liaison between real estate, legal, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless communication and project delivery.
  • Manage development timelines, budgets, and milestone tracking from lease execution through build-out completion.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on multi-year expansion planning, capital allocation, and growth forecasting.
  • Build scalable systems and processes to support aggressive multi-unit rollout.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial real estate development, retail expansion, or multi-site growth leadership.
  • Proven track record scaling multi-unit retail, fitness, hospitality, or commercial brands (50+ units preferred).
  • Extensive experience negotiating commercial leases and LOIs.
  • Strong knowledge of zoning, permitting, and municipal approval processes.
  • Experience coordinating closely with construction and project management teams.
  • Ability to evaluate deal economics, ROI, and long-term viability.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and executive leadership skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience in fitness, retail, or high-growth consumer brands is a plus.

    Annual salary +200k-230k, increases based on performance.
