Summary

To perform inspections covering the repair and/or disassembly of aircraft engines from Willis Lease’s fleet and Third‑Party Customers coming through the Repair Station. Performs a variety of tasks within a team environment and is self‑motivated, driven by results, achievement, and in meeting goals.

Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections of incoming and outgoing engines, components, and materials to meet quality control requirements as stated in the repair station quality control manual.
  • Determine that no defective, unserviceable, or non‑airworthy condition exists prior to release to service, check all documentation.
  • Check incoming engines, components, and materials for hidden damage.
  • Consult with Powerplant Engineer and generate inspection reports as needed.
  • Perform shipping and receiving duties.
  • Mentor Inspector I in proper inspection tool usage, inspection report writing, and complex inspections required for Inspector II.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 5 – 9 years of experience and Powerplant license required for Inspector I; 10+ years of experience and Powerplant license required for Inspector II.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with 2+ types of engines required (CFM
    56‑5B, CFM
    56‑7B, and/or V2500).
  • FAA P License required (FAA A&P license preferred).
  • Proficient in conducting engine inspections to include QEC Inventories, GVI, and DI.
  • Generate inspection reports for engines and components.
  • Familiar with all inspection methods, techniques, and equipment used to determine the quality and airworthiness of engines, components, and materials undergoing maintenance, repair, or alteration.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of FAA airworthiness directives, service bulletins, manufacturer's maintenance manuals (AMM, ESM, PPBU, CMM), illustrated parts catalog, and engine shop manuals.
  • Proficient with current software packages, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other similar repair shop repair and tracking systems.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to lift or pull objects weighing as much as 70 pounds frequently.
  • Agility to stand, lie, or kneel in awkward positions or in confined spaces and to perform work from scaffolds or ladders.
  • Manual dexterity is required to operate tools to adjust and repair.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to inspect equipment for defects.
Travel/Misc.
  • Light – as needed.
