Job Description & How to Apply Below

Company Description

Honeybee Consulting & Design is a communications and design firm specializing in empathy-led strategizing for public health nonprofits and values-driven small businesses. We help mission-focused teams clarify their story and translate complex ideas into accessible, easy to digest tools, in addition to supporting organizations as they grow their impact. Through close collaboration with clients, we deliver communications and design solutions that are human-centered and aligned with real-world community needs.

Role Description

The Community Data Collection Intern is a part-time, on-site role based in Coral Gables, FL. This role focuses on gathering, organizing, and documenting community feedback and engagement data to inform an Urban Agriculture Evaluation Framework initiative for Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. Day-to-day tasks include setting up several data collection stations at the farmers market, conversing and collecting information from visitors at a year-round farmers market, managing ambient data stations, documenting community interactions, and contributing to a federal cohort grant report due at the end of September 2026.

The role itself requires in-person presence on Sundays (starting as soon as possible) from 8:30-3:00 pm until September 27th.

This is not a data entry position. You will be in the field, engaging with a diverse South Florida community, using professional evaluation tools, and developing skills that translate directly into careers in education research, program evaluation, community organizing, public health, and nonprofit leadership. This position is intentionally designed as a learning experience—you will understand the reasoning behind every method and build skills that are directly transferable to graduate school, education research, program evaluation, and community-facing careers.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Community Engagement abilities to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication and Customer Service skills to gather information, answer questions, and represent the organization professionally.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and document qualitative and quantitative data with attention to detail.
  • Comfort interacting in person with community members and partners in an on-site setting.
  • Interest in urban studies, public health, nonprofit work, or values-driven small businesses is beneficial.
  • Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, online survey tools) is preferred.
  • Current enrollment in or completion of studies in communications, public health, social sciences, or a related field is advantageous.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Selected candidates will be invited for a brief 20-minute virtual or phone conversation before a final decision is made.
