Nurse Practitioner - S

Job Summary

Under the direction of a licensed physician, provides medical services to patients using accepted protocols; collects data, conducts diagnostics, orders labs, manages direct patient care, formulates and implements treatment plans for hospitalized patients.

• Provide comprehensive primary patient care via interviews, examinations, and treatment planning.
• Prescribe appropriate medical treatment and medications consistent with standards.
• Order studies, tests and ancillary care services as needed.
• Create medically appropriate referrals.
• Follow evidence‑based care guidelines and best clinical practice.
• Document all services in the electronic medical record.
• Review chronic medical conditions during office visits.
• Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection.
• Administer routine office injections (SQ, IM, or intraarticular).
• Consult and collaborate with Cano Health physicians regarding complex cases.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of patient information per HIPAA.

• Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Valid nurse practitioner license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, must maintain.
• Experience with eCW or other EMR preferred.

• At least 3 years of experience in a clinical setting.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Familiarity with EHR medical charting systems.

Work under typical office conditions; requires use of personal computer and telephone; ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, lift up to 50 lbs; ability to work extended and flexible hours including weekends.

Travel required to assigned clinics; some driving/traveling expected.
