Surgical Assistant, Operating Room Nurse, RN Nurse

The Operating Room nurse is responsible for the observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care for all patients. The unit has 7 beds with a varying number of staff based on volume. Staffing includes 1 tech and 1 RN or 2 RNs per room. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:1. Equipment used includes robotics, spine, and vascular tools. Documentation is done using a designated system.
On-call requirements include 1-2 shifts during the week and 1 weekend shift per 4-week period. The RN must be capable of scrubbing and circulating across all service lines. Rotating weekends may be required. Typical procedures performed include joint replacement, ENT, ortho, spine, urology, vascular, podiatry, thoracic surgery, and plastic surgery. Additional preferences include PALS certification and any charge experience. Candidates should possess the ability to multi-task, think critically, and maintain excellent bedside manner.
The dress code consists of OR scrubs provided by the unit. This facility has been recognized as a top-performing institution and specializes in a variety of surgical programs.
