Bridge RN Residency Program
Bridge RN Residency Program starts November 9, 2026! Accepting applications from September 6th thru 14th Only! Due to the volume of interest and limited positions available in this program. This cohort will have opportunities available in Ft. Lauderdale, Coral Springs and our main hospital in Miami.
The following are the requirements and process to follow in order to qualify for the Bridge Program:
- Must have an active Florida RN license (or multi-state including Florida)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required at time of hire for all external candidates; current NCH employees will have to complete BSN degree within 36 months from start date in RN Horizon role
- Must have worked as an RN, but for a period of less than 6 months in a non-acute care setting.
The Process for this program:
- After reading the program requirements in the posting to confirm you meet the requirements, please complete the application in its entirety including all prescreening questions and upload your resume.
- If you are selected for the next step, you will receive an email with instructions to complete/ record a video interview. The deadline for video submissions is September 15th by 5:00pm. Videos submitted after the deadline may not be considered.
- The nursing leaders will then review all applicant submissions and if you are selected for a panel interview, you will receive an email to schedule the interview date and time.

At Nicklaus Children's Health System our mission is to provide the best care to every child. Our Bridge Program is specifically designed to support RNs that HAVE worked, but only for a period of less than 6 months in a non-acute care setting (home health, school nursing, case management, etc.)
and would be transitioning to the acute pediatric RN role.
Standardized onboarding programs are best practice and have been proven to decrease turnover, decrease medication errors, increase engagement and strengthen nursing knowledge and skills which support quality patient care. Nurses are given a thorough orientation through didactic curriculum, interactive online modules, simulation, and hands on training with their preceptors. The result is a gain of increased proficiency and clinical experience across multiple specialties.
If selected for this position a commitment of approximately 2 years will be required.
Job Summary:
The Bridge Program is a structured RN Program that provides a comprehensive new RN on-boarding experience in an acute care pediatric setting. Manages and directs nursing care activities, coordinates care planning, collaborates with the clinical and medical staff, and educates patients and their family members on the procedure in a compassionate patient and family centered care environment. Supports and upholds quality standards of a Magnet designated hospital and Patient Bill of Rights.
