The e-Commerce Sales Manager leads a sales team that creates an exceptional experience for customers. This role is responsible for selecting, training, coaching, developing, and retaining the best e-Commerce Sales Associates and driving high-level performance to increase market share, achieve unit sales and profit targets while delighting every customer.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities- Lead yourself and the team in alignment with Auto Nation’s vision and mission.
- Set a clear vision and goals for the sales team to achieve targeted performance in new and used vehicle sales and profit.
- Engage and motivate the team to reach key goals, performance expectations and Auto Nation best‑practice processes.
- Drive day‑to‑day operations and ensure e‑leads are handled timely, answering questions and setting appointments.
- Manage follow‑up with e‑leads, assisting them through the research phase until ready for purchase.
- Transition customers effectively from phone and internet contact to in‑store experience.
- Manage the negotiation process with Sales Associates, ensuring customers understand options and pricing.
- Appraise vehicles for trade and manage all customer traffic: showroom, e‑commerce, and phones.
- Partner with General Manager / General Sales Manager to plan and manage new and used inventory.
- Assist in managing controllable expense elements for the New and Used Vehicle Departments.
- Analyze business performance to identify shortfalls and develop action plans to improve results.
- Targeted e‑lead conversions to appointments.
- Targeted unit sales and gross profit.
- Targeted associate retention.
- Targeted Customer Satisfaction Index.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven success in e‑commerce automotive sales.
- Proven leadership ability to mentor and train others.
- Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
- Ability to drive an exceptional customer experience.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organization and follow‑up skills.
- Experience and desire to work with technology.
- Valid in‑state driver’s license and acceptable safe driving record.
- Used Vehicle Manager.
