Assistant Diesel Mechanic

• Monday – Friday every week
• 2nd Shift, 3:00pm – 1:00am
• Rotational Saturdays
• Work is performed in a repair/maintenance shop at our Pompano Beach, FL hauling site

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment
• Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs)
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles; prioritize safety of employees and community
• Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times
• Assist senior mechanics in the completion of project work
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and established safety procedures

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Over 18 years of age
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
• Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical

• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing
