Generator Field Service Technician at Integrated Power Services Pompano , FL

As a Generator Field Service Technician, you will service, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engine‑driven standby generators in the field. Your mission is to keep our residential, commercial, and industrial clients powered on.

• Preventative maintenance: scheduled services for oil & filter changes, spark plugs, coolant checks, and other filters
• Inspections: visual inspections of mechanical and electrical systems
• Cleaning: oil, fuel, and air filters, cooling system, and the exterior of the unit
• Testing: load bank, automatic transfer switch (ATS), and functional testing
• Troubleshooting: alternators, wiring harnesses, switches, switch gear, battery systems, and engines
• Diagnosis: failure analysis, battery system testing with a multimeter, and other tools
• Commissioning & Start‑Ups: design review, testing, switch gear, program control panels, and network
• Brands:
  Kohler/Rehlko, CAT, Cummins, Generac, Deere, Onan, MTU, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Detroit Diesel, Asco, Atlas Copco, etc. up to 2.5MW
• Customer Service: communicate information to customers in a clear, understandable manner about issues and resolutions
• Documentation: complete detailed reports of the work performed
• Company vehicle: travel safely in a company service vehicle throughout the local counties, maintain vehicle inventory, and perform safety maintenance

• Graduation from a technical school is desired (generators, diesel, power generation, electric power, relay, or substation technology)
• Some experience in repair or maintenance of generators preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Mechanical aptitude may substitute for technical schooling and generator experience
• Good communication and customer service skills
• At least 3 years operating a vehicle with a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
• Satisfactory driving record, ability to obtain DOT medical certification
• Availability to service clients after hours and on‑call as needed
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, operating manuals, and safety guidelines
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 75lbs
• Ability to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions
