This full-time, on-site Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician role is based in Pompano Beach, FL. The technician will perform diagnostic assessments, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems, including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues. Daily tasks include conducting preventive maintenance visits, completing service calls, installing or replacing system components, and ensuring that all work meets safety and regulatory standards. The role involves interacting with customers to explain findings, recommend solutions, and ensure their comfort and satisfaction.
The technician will also document work performed, maintain tools and equipment, and coordinate with dispatch and management to support efficient scheduling and service delivery.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for HVAC systems, including diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems and resolving service issues efficiently.
- Experience with maintenance and repair, including scheduled service, system inspections, and emergency response work.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices to extend equipment life and improve system performance.
- Commitment to customer satisfaction, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and provide professional service on-site.
- EPA certification for handling refrigerants and understanding of applicable codes and safety regulations.
- Relevant HVAC training or technical school certification.
- Ability to work independently in the field, manage time effectively, and operate company vehicles safely.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting equipment, working in confined spaces, and operating tools and machinery.
- Basic computer or mobile device skills for accessing work orders, documenting service, and communicating with the office.
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC/R systems in commercial settings.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with heating, cooling, and refrigeration equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals related to HVAC systems.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding service needs and recommendations.
- Collaborate with other technicians and staff to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used during service calls.
