Guest Service Associate, Part Time Greeter​/Screener - Pompton Plains

Welcome patients, guests, and visitors by smiling and greeting them as they arrive.

• Directing patients, guests, and visitors to the appropriate department for testing or registration process.
• Using Epic electronic documentation system to help guests locate the unit and room number of patients they are visiting.
• Assist vendors signing in and contacting security upon their arrival. Answer phones and transfer accordingly.
• Signing in and track all visitor exceptions/restrictions for regulatory compliance.
• Manages and reviews greeter schedules to ensure proper coverage at the entrances of the medical center.
• Supports visitor restrictions as determined by site leadership/security/physician and provider order.
• Coordinates flower and gift deliveries to patient rooms.
• Contacts transport services, as needed, to escort patients to their destination, within the medical center campus.
• Maintains professional and engaging interactions with patients and families, to provide extraordinary experiences and positive impressions.
• Assures adherence to organizational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Provides a safe environment by communicating and escalating behavioral concerns to immediate supervisor, nursing supervisor and security staff when needed.
• Interfaces with numerous departments and team members in a complex medical center environment.
• Other tasks as required to ensure extraordinary experiences.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Required

• Candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

• Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
• Demonstrated empathy, professionalism, and emotional intelligence.
• Proficient with documentation systems and mobile rounding tools (e.g., Huron, Epic, or CRM platforms).
• Able to navigate hospital units, maintain composure under pressure, and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Work experiences that involved public-facing roles strongly preferred.
