LUBE TECHNICIAN-PART-TIME TEMP- CITY GARAGE DEFINITIONPerform preventative maintenance and minor repairs. Repairs such as but not limited to light replacement, tire rotations, and battery replacement. This position involves inspecting, lubricating, maintaining various vehicles, as well as performing routine oil changes and fluid checks.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISEDReceives general supervision from the City Garage Superintendent. Exercises no direct supervision over staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION STATEMENTSEssential responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- 1. Perform oil changes and lubrication services on vehicles and equipment
- 2. Inspect vehicle components such as brakes, tires and lighting systems
- 3. Check and refill fluids including oil, coolant, transmission and etc
- 4. Reporting any and all issues found with the vehicle
- 5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of shop and tooling
- 6. Keep accurate records of work performed
Principles, Practices and Knowledge of:
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
- Ability to work with hands and use various tooling
- Strong communication skills
Environmental Conditions:
Shop and field environment with exposure to grease, oils, chemicals, fumes, dust, noise, varying weather conditions and occasional emergency response activities. May require heavy lifting and standing for extended periods of time
