We are looking for a Shipping Superintendent to work in Ponca City, OK supporting our client.
POSITION
PURPOSE:
- The Shipping/Receiving Superintendent maintains focus on productivity, quality, cleanliness, as well as food and plant safety while holding the team members accountable for meeting all company expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned):
- Implement and evaluate all processes involved in the materials handling goals (FIFO, load times, inventory accuracy) to ensure that the goals are being met.
- Work with safety department to identify potential risks for powered industrial equipment operators and non-operators to ensure the protection of employees and other individuals while minimizing the organizations exposure to loss and liability.
- Openly communicate inbound/outbound issues with the pertinent departments to allow for scheduling adjustment to be made.
- Maintain powered industrial equipment program.
- Actively support all employee and labor relations activities to increase employee engagement.
- Develop training plans that support the organizational goals and objectives of the company. Participate in ideation, concept development, management of, or direct supervision of product development or process improvement initiatives.

EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred with a minimum of three years related experience with progressive managerial responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Will require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 50 pounds for finished cases, files, and computer printouts on occasion.
- The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing and freezer areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
PRIMARY ENVIRONMENT:
Refrigerated room temperatures, lighting and traditional processing equipment as found in a typical production/warehouse environment
Must Have:
- Demonstrates a stable work history with strong tenure at prior organizations.
- Shipping & Receiving leadership experience with at least 3+ years of progressive managerial responsibility , overseeing warehouse or plant materials handling operations.
- Operational control of shipping processes , including FIFO execution, load time management, and inventory accuracy , within a production or warehouse environment.
- Hands-on safety accountability , specifically working with or supporting safety programs for powered industrial equipment and employee protection in manufacturing settings.
- People leadership and accountability , including team oversight, employee engagement, labor relations support, and holding staff accountable to company standards.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing / refrigerated warehouse environment , including exposure to freezer areas, PPE requirements, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds .
