Position Description
Responsible for monitoring activities at construction sites. Inspects sites daily, works with vendors to schedule deliveries and ensures timely material delivery. Reviews specifications or drawings, ensures construction progresses as scheduled and adheres to contract specifications. Uses Primavera P6 for scheduling, ensures compliance with all state, federal, and industry codes, reports deviations and resolves corrections. Works in a safe and timely manner with high quality.
Job Responsibilities- Work closely with Project Management personnel to meet job specifications.
- Utilize Primavera P6 for scheduling.
- Review data for material type and size, prepare itemized lists.
- Purchase, expedite, and receive permanent material ensuring proper quantity and quality.
- Perform material take-offs and order appropriate quantities on time.
- Review inventory parts for correct specifications.
- Resolve issues with out-of-sequence or incorrect parts.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation for construction bids or installations.
- Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for planning, organizing, scheduling work, selecting vendors, and determining cost effectiveness.
- Ensure correct assembly and installation per specifications.
- Consult with clients, vendors, or others to discuss and formulate change order estimates and resolve issues.
- Generate new drawings on-site for change orders or modifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or Construction Engineer degree preferred or at least 5 years of field experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with all levels.
- Good computer skills (experience with Primavera and Expedition are a plus).
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly; follow direction from site manager.
- Proficiency in college-level math and use of precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, shop drawings, procedure manuals, and safety rules.
- Must pass drug test and criminal background check.
