Job Description for:
Skilled Concrete Finisher / Form Setter

This is skilled construction work involving the preparation, forming, placement, and finishing of concrete for commercial, industrial, and civil construction projects. The Skilled Concrete Finisher / Form Setter performs a variety of tasks related to concrete construction, including form setting, grade preparation, concrete placement, finishing, and quality control. Work is performed under the direction of a Superintendent or Foreman and is subject to review for quality, productivity, and adherence to company safety standards.

Job Duties and Tasks for:
Skilled Concrete Finisher / Form Setter

Set, align, and secure concrete forms according to project plans and specifications.

Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, elevations, and construction drawings.

Prepare subgrades and assist with layout for concrete pours.

Place, spread, screed, and finish concrete surfaces.

Perform floating, edging, jointing, broom finishing, and troweling operations.

Assist with curb and gutter, sidewalks, foundations, slabs, paving, and other concrete construction activities.

Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment used in concrete construction.

Ensure proper concrete curing and protection procedures are followed.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Work effectively with crew members, equipment operators, and project supervisors to meet production schedules.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Skills Needed for:
Skilled Concrete Finisher / Form Setter

Thorough knowledge of concrete forming and finishing techniques.

Knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in concrete work.

Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety procedures associated with concrete construction.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and grade information.

Ability to establish and maintain proper grades, elevations, and alignments.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.

Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Knowledge, Experience, and Education Required for:
Skilled Concrete Finisher / Form Setter

Minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete forming and finishing preferred.

Experience with commercial, industrial, municipal, or civil concrete projects preferred.

Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in concrete construction.

Ability to safely operate construction equipment and tools associated with concrete work.

Valid driver's license preferred.

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.

Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements.
