Job Goal: Provide exceptional instruction to assigned students while working within the established policies and procedures of the district.

FLSA Classification: Exempt
Evaluation: Annually pursuant to Oklahoma law
Physical Demands: Stand for extended periods; walk; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and operate equipment; lift/move up to 15 pounds. Occasional lift/move up to 25 pounds; ability to administer CPR.
Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish classroom procedures that maximize student learning in a conducive environment.
- Prepare detailed weekly written lesson plans aligned with Oklahoma Academic Standards and submit plans to assigned principal.
- Implement individual education plans and behavioral or academic interventions.
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom, including the physical arrangement of the room, student records, and materials.
- Handle routine classroom discipline fairly.
- Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct, develop reasonable classroom behavior rules, and maintain order fairly.
- Attend and participate in all required meetings, conferences, and professional development.
- Maintain complete and accurate student records, including attendance, performance, and discipline.
- Provide professional and regular feedback to students and parents through notes, phone calls, conferences, and other communication methods.
- Display professional behavior in all school‑related interactions.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and district policies and procedures.
- Use formative and summative data to guide instruction, plan student interventions, and communicate progress to parents.
- Provide individualized and small group instruction, adapting the curriculum as needed.
- Support a technology‑enriched environment to promote student learning.
- Maintain availability to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside the instructional day.
- Plan and coordinate the work of teacher assistants, parents, and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
- Collaborate with other professionals to enrich and improve students’ academic progress.
- Teach and encourage good citizenship.
- Create a classroom climate conducive to learning through functional and attractive displays, learning centers, and student work exhibits.
- Perform all other tasks as the supervisor may assign.
Position Type: Full Time
Salary: $40,662.20 per year
