Generally - 7 Hour 20 Minute Day, Exclusive of a (30) Minute Duty Free Lunch

Regular Requirements: Stand for extended periods; walk; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment and demonstrate lessons to students; lift/move up to 15 pounds
Occasional Requirements: Lift/move up to 25 pounds, ability to administer CPR
Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provides leadership in the development and evaluation of the district’s media services, including planning, implementation and budgeting.
- Consults with the building principal to schedule library and computer lab times.
- Instructs students on the proper use of print and electronic library and computer lab resources, including developing students’ research, reference and critical thinking skills.
- Conducts an annual inventory, including discarding dated materials.
- Advise and provide guidance to district library monitors.
- Orders new materials as needed and in accordance with all district purchasing procedures and in conjunction with individual departments. Systematically updates teachers regarding new resources available.
- Coordinates the annual book fair.
- Collaborates with teachers to ensure maximum access to educational media for classroom planning and use.
- Delivers media curriculum objectives to students in partnerships with other teaching staff.
- Helps students to develop habits of independent information access and use so as to develop the skills in the use of instructional materials in relation to learning outcomes.
- Counsels with and gives reading guidance to students who have special reading needs.
- On an annual basis analyzes the media program to establish new policies and services as necessary and to determine needs to update technology.
- Arranges for interlibrary loan of materials.
- Regularly participates in appropriate professional development opportunities.
- Utilizes professional behavior in all school related interactions.
- Complies with all federal, state and local laws and board policies and procedures.
- Assists teachers in the selection of books and other instructional materials, and makes media center materials available to support and enrich the curriculum of the building.
- Meets site and district staff development requirements.
- Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.

Salary$40,662.20 Per Year
