- Create an elementary program focused on rigorous, content-based curriculum within a 21st century framework of collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity.
- Produce high academic achievement.
- Communicate effectively with parents and the community.
- Demonstrate effective teaching skills that support district goals and beliefs.
- Exhibit a commitment to professional growth.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional material specifically designed to teach the Oklahoma Standards, Ponca City Power Standards, and skills on grade level curriculum maps.
- Use formative and summative data to guide instruction, plan for student interventions, and communicate progress to parents.
- Provide individualized and small group instruction, adapting the curriculum as needed.
- Fully implement behavioral or academic interventions and individualized education plans to meet the needs of all students.
- Provide a technology-enriched environment to support student learning.
- Follow all state laws, administrative regulations, and policies or procedures of the school district.
- Instruct pupils in site and district policies and procedures that produce a safe and orderly environment.
- Teach and encourage good citizenship.
- Create a classroom climate conducive to learning through functional and attractive displays, learning centers and exhibits of student’s work.
- Communicate regularly with parents outside the normal classroom day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
- Evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
- Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
- Plan and coordinate the work of teacher assistants, parents, and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
- Collaborate with other professionals to enrich and improve students’ academic progress.
- Meet state, district, and site staff development requirements.
Supervises classroom and students, volunteers, and support staff working under his/her direction.
Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsValid Teaching Certificate.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. The employee may occasionally push or lift up to 30 lbs, such as boxes of books and TV/VCR carts. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well being, or work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such that to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus.
The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Duties are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors.
