Job Title: Safety Coordinator – 2nd Shift
Location: Ponca City area, Oklahoma
Compensation: $60,000 to $70,000 + bonus
Position OverviewThe Safety Coordinator partners closely with plant leadership to promote a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture. This individual will help identify hazards, reduce risk, and support the development and execution of safety programs that align with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Safety Manager in reviewing, updating, and implementing safety policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to evaluate work practices and recommend improvements that enhance safety and reduce risk.
- Lead incident reporting and investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and follow-up to ensure resolution.
- Develop and deliver monthly safety training for plant associates and evaluate training effectiveness.
- Conduct targeted training initiatives based on specific risks, incidents, or compliance requirements.
- Perform regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to corporate safety programs and regulatory standards.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (assembly and/or machine shop preferred).
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-volume operation.
- Undergraduate degree or formal safety training is a plus.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred; CPE, CSP, or CIH certifications are a plus.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Occasional reaching, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Exposure to plant floor conditions requiring appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and hearing protection.
- Work is primarily performed in a standard office setting with periodic time spent in production areas.
