Position Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to partner with the plant leadership to promote a proactive safety culture by identifying and eliminating hazards before an incident occurs. Assists the Safety Manager with the implementation and maintenance of policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOther duties may be assigned.
Education and/or experience:
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing setting (including assembly/machine shop). Must have supervisory experience in a high volume, fast-paced facility. Previous experience, and/or an undergraduate degree, in safety a plus.
Certificates, licenses, registrations:
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred. CPE, CSP or CIH certification a plus.
Physical Demands/ Work EnvironmentIndividuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Requires walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files, on occasion.
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
