Qualifications:

• Hold current Oklahoma Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) certification
• Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification required
• Completed Training and Assessment Systems for K-12 Educational Interpreters (TASK 12)
• Experience with sign language interpretation in educational settings preferred
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and interpreting best practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities

Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction and school communications for one high school student on a daily basis
• Foster an inclusive and accessible learning experience
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure effective accommodation
• Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
• Adjust approach as needed to meet individual student needs and educational goals
• Maintain accurate records of interpreting services rendered

This role is full time, with 33.75 hours per week across a standard 5-day school schedule, ensuring you have evenings and weekends to yourself.
