Overview
Job Summary The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for performing daily cycle counting in both primary and secondary locations, ensuring inventory accuracy across the facility. This role involves identifying, researching, and correcting inventory balance errors, as well as conducting location audits. The specialist will analyze product supply and demand data to optimize stockroom efficiency, assist in locating lost products, and verify location accuracy.
They will also manage special inventories; handle product holds and maintain accurate item master and item balance records for manufactured items.
- Perform daily cycle counting in both primary and secondary locations to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Follow established procedures to identify, research, and correct inventory balance errors.
- Conduct daily location audits to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Develop and manage locations for new products, including the first cycle count and the development of weight and cube information.
- Analyze product supply and demand data to optimize product placement, enhance stockroom efficiency and improve productivity.
- Search for lost products (e.g., backordered picklists, cycle counts) and assist in problem resolution.
- Verify location accuracy, including primary and secondary locations, available primaries, and secondaries.
- Identify and quarantine suspect products until a determination is made regarding their return to stock or return to the supplier.
- Receive, locate, and maintain special inventories as required.
- Ensure the accuracy of Item Master and Item Balance records for manufactured items.
- Maintain an effective inventory control system to ensure all materials are accurately accounted for.
- Ability to organize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in data entry and managing inventory systems.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including MS Office, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive relationships quickly.
High school diploma or GED required.
1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
