Production Supervisor
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead processing floor operations on either first or second shift. This role is responsible for organizing and directing daily production activities to meet established schedules while ensuring compliance with company expectations related to food safety, plant safety, quality, productivity, and cleanliness.
The Production Supervisor provides direct oversight of hourly associates, drives operational performance, and supports a safe, engaged, and high-performing workforce in a manufacturing environment.
Schedule
1st Shift: Approximately 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
2nd Shift: Approximately 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Specific shift assignment determined based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Production and Operational Execution
• Organize and direct processing floor activities to meet daily production schedules
• Drive attainment of operational goals including yield, efficiency, uptime, and labor cost control
• Support delivery of optimal conversion cost while maintaining quality standards
• Ensure proper staffing, task assignment, and workflow management to achieve performance targets
Quality and Food Safety
• Monitor quality checks to ensure products meet established quality and food safety standards
• Reduce and eliminate risk by enforcing compliance with company and regulatory requirements
• Ensure production processes consistently align with food safety protocols and internal standards
Safety and Risk Management
• Direct hourly associates in safe work practices to protect employees and minimize organizational risk
• Maintain compliance with plant safety policies and procedures
• Promote a culture of accountability around safety and cleanliness
Leadership and Workforce Management
• Lead and direct daily employee activities including placement, training, and goal setting
• Support employee and labor relations initiatives to increase engagement and morale
• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management to hourly team members
• Collaborate with the Production Superintendent and Operations Manager to develop and implement training plans aligned with organizational goals
Continuous Improvement and Development
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and, when applicable, product development activities
• Support concept development and execution of operational enhancements
• Contribute ideas to improve productivity, quality, and overall operational effectiveness
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Progressive supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and manage multiple priorities
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience in food manufacturing
• Experience participating in process improvement or product development initiatives
• Experience developing and implementing training plans
• Demonstrated success improving employee engagement or resolving labor-related challenges
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
• Work performed primarily on the production floor in a manufacturing environment
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts
• Very loud noise levels
• Majority of work conducted in a refrigerated environment
• Occasional work in freezer areas with extremely cold temperatures
• Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
