Production Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Direct supervisor of Production Department personnel, setting goals and performance criteria.
• Plan and direct production scheduling.
• Monitor and direct personnel to ensure production complies with customer requirements (QA).
• Oversee the hiring, scheduling, and training of all Production Department personnel.
• Direct the Production Department safety program, reviewing weekly meetings, inspections, and correcting unsafe conditions.
• Monitor environmental issues to ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Direct inspection of process equipment.
• Participate in development of the Annual Operating Plan and ensure the department meets its goals.
• Implement all department, plant, and company policies and procedures.
• Maximize and optimize production process efficiency in coordination with market/sales demands.
• Inspect all process equipment to ensure proper continuous operation.
• Ensure all reporting is completed timely and accurately.
• Monitor safe and proper operation of process equipment.
• Monitor and direct processing and handling of off‑spec material, rerun, and prevention of storage tank contamination.
• Ensure product compliance with customer requirements.
• Monitor and direct maintenance activities to ensure efficient and safe operations.
• Direct the management of all operating supplies.
• Perform housekeeping to maintain plant facilities in a safe, orderly condition.
• Establish key performance indicators for the department.
• Meet annual operating plan budget and performance objectives.
• Develop and update succession plan.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, including demonstrated success in a similar role with a carbon black manufacturer or other chemical/petrochemical manufacturer.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to manage people and situations.
• High energy level, self‑motivating, team player, excellent work ethic.
• Self‑confident, capable of identifying and correcting problems through good troubleshooting techniques.
• Effective PC and PC‑application software skills.
• Effective communicator, both oral and written.
