Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Operations Superintendent to lead second-shift production operations at a USDA-regulated Ready-to-Eat (RTE) food manufacturing facility in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

This is a hands-on production-floor leadership position for an experienced food manufacturing professional who understands how to drive production, develop supervisors, maintain food and employee safety standards, and consistently meet operational goals. The successful candidate will be highly visible on the production floor and comfortable leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Operations Superintendent will direct plant production activities to produce safe, high-quality products efficiently and in accordance with production schedules, company policies, customer standards, and regulatory requirements. This individual will coordinate production and shipment activities, monitor inventory, manage staffing requirements, and support continuous improvement throughout the operation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct and coordinate daily production operations and shipment of quality products to meet customer requirements
  • Lead production planning, scheduling, staffing, and production-efficiency initiatives
  • Maintain a strong, visible leadership presence on the production floor
  • Monitor inventory and ensure appropriate production flow
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and develop production supervisors
  • Support manpower and space forecasting based on production requirements
  • Drive production efficiency and productivity goals
  • Ensure Ready-to-Eat products meet USDA, food-safety, customer, and regulatory requirements
  • Support compliance with USDA regulations and customer-specific standards
  • Provide employee safety training and conduct safety inspections
  • Follow up on safety-related work orders and corrective actions
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment free from recognizable hazards
  • Coordinate production needs with maintenance and other plant departments
  • Participate in budget preparation and capital expenditure recommendations
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve productivity
  • Support continuous-improvement initiatives across production operations
  • Coach, train, and develop frontline supervisors and production personnel
  • Monitor production performance and take corrective action when operational goals are not being achieved
  • Maintain compliance with required PPE, sanitation, food-safety, and production procedures
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is an onsite, production-floor leadership position in a food manufacturing environment. The role requires regular standing and walking throughout production areas, use of required PPE, and exposure to varying hot and cold manufacturing conditions. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 Years of Related

    Experience with Progressive Managerial Responsibility REQUIRED
  • Superintendent-Level Leadership Experience Directing Plant Production Operations REQUIRED
  • USDA Ready-to-Eat (RTE) Food Manufacturing Experience REQUIRED
  • Hands-On Production-Floor Leadership Experience REQUIRED
  • Strong Formal People-Management and Leadership Experience REQUIRED
  • Experience Managing Production Planning and Scheduling REQUIRED
  • Experience Managing Staffing, Shift Coverage, and Production Efficiency REQUIRED
  • Knowledge of USDA Food-Safety and Regulatory Requirements REQUIRED
  • Experience with Safety Training, Inspections, and Production-Floor Safety REQUIRED
  • Ability to Work Onsite in Ponca City, Oklahoma REQUIRED
  • Ability to Work 2nd Shift, 4:00 PM — 11:00 PM REQUIRED
  • Experience with Inventory Monitoring, Manpower Forecasting, and Production Operations REQUIRED
  • Experience Driving Productivity, Waste Reduction, and Continuous Improvement REQUIRED
  • Experience Supervising and Developing Frontline Supervisors or Production Leads REQUIRED
  • Experience with Budget Preparation and Capital Expenditure Recommendations Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Meat Science or Business Preferred
  • Experience with Customer-Specific Food Manufacturing Standards Preferred

IMPORTANT: This opportunity requires experience specifically within USDA Ready-to-Eat (RTE) food manufacturing. Slaughterhouse-only or farming-operation backgrounds do not meet the required manufacturing experience for this position.
