- Experience in Coaching
- Current CPR Certification
- Current Athletic Care & Prevention Certification
- Courses in Coaching Theory Preferred
- CDL Safety Education Certification
Job Goal: Promote excellent athletic performance in a safe and sportsmanlike manner. To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

Regular Requirements:
Stand for extended periods; run, walk, jump; twist at the neck and trunk; bend at the waist; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Occasional Requirements:
Ability to administer CPR.
Visual Requirements:
Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
Hearing/Speaking Requirements:
Adequate to exchange information.
- Consult with the athletic director and school principal to set practice and competition schedules and participation rules. Systematically disseminate the information to players and parents.
- Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
- Assign managers and duties.
- Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
- Arrive first and leave last to practices and games.
- Maintain accurate statistics, records, and results of the season.
- Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
- Maintain competency in rules, rule interpretations, meet procedures, coaching techniques, and general information about all aspects of the sport.
- Establish performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in this sport and be consistent in establishing criteria for eligibility in competition.
- Adhere to a highly efficient and technically sound program of injury prevention and follow up.
- Promptly notify the athletic director of any athlete injuries or other significant incidents.
- Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
- Supervise the use of assigned equipment, facilities, locker rooms, etc. and ensure that it is properly locked when not in use. Return all equipment at the end of the season in storage‑ready condition.
- Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
- Coordinate attendance and related travel for away games with the athletic director.
- Coordinate off season training and conditioning with the athletic director and other coaches.
- Comply with all federal, state and local laws, and board policies and procedures.
- Utilize professional behavior in all school‑related interactions.
- Develop a consistent and positive public communications procedure through the school and media to inform the parents and the general public about the athletic program.
- Perform all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
