CTH Mortgage is the partner lender of Cretin Townsend Homes, a Gulf South home builder that has been building since 1976. They share ownership. We finance the families who build with us — from the construction loan through the permanent mortgage — across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and Texas.
You would take real scope week one and own an operating relationship that touches most of our revenue.
This is not a support role. It is a high-ownership seat with a defined scorecard, direct exposure to the executive and ownership level of an integrated enterprise, and a deliberate path to broader responsibility.
What you'll own Your primary mandate: make our building offices successful and be the person they call.- Office partnership. Own the working relationship with the leaders of each building office (Hammond, Gulfport, Pensacola, Lafayette, plus our franchise partners). Understand their business, anticipate friction, and be the first call when something needs solving.
- Financing performance at the design centers. Drive the metrics that make each office's business work — how many families we successfully finance, how quickly loans move, where deals stall. Build the monthly office-level reporting that makes performance visible.
- Company reporting. Own our monthly management dashboard end to end — assemble it, spot what's moving, and tell leadership what matters before it shows up in the P&L.
- Special projects for the CEO. Ad-hoc, high-consequence work: analysis, process buildout, vendor and partner coordination, and follow-through on things that would otherwise sit.
- Escalations. Be the clearing house when a file, a family, or an office relationship needs someone to grab it and drive it to resolution.
- First 90 days: you've met every office leader, you understand how a loan moves from a family's first design-center visit to closing, and you've taken over the monthly reporting pack.
- First 6 months: office leaders describe you as the reason things run smoother. The financing dashboard is running monthly without prompting. The CEO is out of at least two recurring work streams he owned before you started.
- First 12 months: you own the office relationship outright, you're bringing problems to leadership already half-solved, and we're discussing what you run next.
We care far more about judgment, drive, and how you operate than about a specific résumé. Mortgage experience is genuinely not required — we will teach you the industry.
- 3–7 years of professional experience in a role where you owned outcomes, not just tasks — operations, consulting, finance, project management, account management, or running something yourself.
- Exceptional follow-through. You close loops without being asked twice. If you say it's handled, it's handled.
- Comfort with numbers. You can build a clean spreadsheet, read a P&L, and explain what a trend means in plain language. Strong Excel skills are a real requirement.
- Relationship instinct. You’ll be serving demanding, capable business leaders who are busy and direct. You need to earn their trust and hold your ground at the same time.
- High tolerance for ambiguity. This is a new seat at a small company. The scope will shift. Nobody will hand you a playbook — you'll write it.
- Willingness to travel. Our offices are spread across the Gulf South. You'll be in a car most weeks.
- Ambition for what's next. We want someone who intends to run something larger and sees this as the best route there.
- Experience in homebuilding, mortgage, real estate, banking, or another operationally complex, regulated industry.
- A track record of building a process or report that outlived your involvement.
- Consulting, corporate strategy, or chief-of-staff exposure at any scale.
We would rather you self-select accurately than discover this in month three:
- You will be asking office leaders to see value in something they are also paying for. That tension is the core of the job and it takes real relationship skill.
- This is a small company. There is no large support function behind you — you will do your own analysis, build your own decks, and book…
