Ben Bellucci Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable After-School Cheer dance Instructor to lead our youth programs in St. Johns County
. We are looking for an instructor who can bring "spirit" to life for elementary students (Grades K-5), combining basic cheerleading motions with fun, rhythmic dance routines.
This role is perfect for former cheerleaders, dancers, or energetic educators who want to help local students build confidence, coordination, and teamwork in a positive after-school environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesRoutine Instruction: Teach age‑appropriate cheer dance routines, including basic motions, jumps, and simple dance combinations.
Spirit amp;
Chants: Instruct students on vocal projection and school spirit through traditional and creative cheers and chants.Performance Prep: Choreograph and lead short routines for "showcase days" where students can perform for family and friends.
Safety amp;
Form: Ensure all participants practice safely, focusing on proper stretching and foundational techniques (no high‑level stunting required for elementary levels).Positive Mentorship: Serve as a role model by encouraging self‑esteem, inclusion, and a "can‑do" attitude for all skill levels.
Logistics: Manage student check‑in/check‑out and ensure the practice space (gym, stage, or cafeteria) is respected and left organized.
Experience working with elementary‑aged children (coaching, teaching, or camp leadership).
Background in Cheerleading, Dance, or Poms is required.
High energy, punctual, and the ability to command the attention of a group of 15–20 children.
Reliable transportation to various school sites in the St. Johns County area.
CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
Must pass a comprehensive background check (meeting St. Johns County School District vendor requirements).
Pay
Hours: After‑school hours, typically ranging from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (varies by school bell schedule).
Commitment: 1–3 days per week (flexible based on your availability).
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour based on experience and background.
Flexible, part‑time schedule that works well with other commitments.
Paid training and access to BBA’s national spirit and dance curriculum.
All necessary equipment (pompoms, music) and BBA apparel provided.
