Job Summary

The Public Area Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, appearance, and daily upkeep of the new Sports Club and wellness facilities. This position supervises and schedules public area housekeeping colleagues, inspects assigned areas, coordinates cleaning priorities, manages supplies, and ensures all spaces consistently meet the luxury standards of Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Supervise, schedule, train, coach, and support public area housekeeping colleagues.
  • Assign daily responsibilities and conduct pre-shift meetings.
  • Inspect fitness areas, studios, locker rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, lounges, stairways, entrances, and other public spaces.
  • Ensure all areas remain clean, organized, properly stocked, and ready for members and guests.
  • Monitor high-traffic areas throughout the day and adjust staffing or cleaning priorities as needed.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to member and guest requests.
  • Coordinate cleaning activities with Sports Club, Wellness, Engineering, and other operational departments.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for cleaning supplies, linens, amenities, and equipment.
  • Submit supply orders and assist with controlling departmental expenses.
  • Ensure cleaning products and equipment are used safely and according to established procedures.
  • Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damaged equipment, and facility issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, supply logs, and other required documentation.
  • Assist with employee performance evaluations, attendance management, and ongoing training.
  • Maintain compliance with sanitation, safety, and company standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Training and Experience

A minimum of two years of housekeeping or public area cleaning experience is required. Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a luxury hotel, resort, private club, fitness facility, or similar hospitality environment is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience scheduling employees, conducting inspections, training staff, managing supplies, and maintaining high cleanliness and service standards.

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. The ability to speak, read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with members, guests, colleagues, and management is required.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently bend, reach, kneel, push, and pull, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to move throughout multiple areas of the facility and work safely around cleaning chemicals and equipment.
