Geologist; Entry Level

Overview

Seeking an Entry Level Geologist for our growing environmental firm. This role focuses on applying academic knowledge in a professional setting, gaining hands-on experience in geological data evaluation and project management. The successful candidate will contribute to conducting geological studies, preparing reports, and managing geological projects within a collaborative team.

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 per year

• Conduct fieldwork, including geological mapping, sampling, and monitoring.
• Analyze and interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical information from sources such as survey data, well logs, bore holes, and aerial photos.
• Prepare written geological reports with detailed descriptions and maps of investigated areas.
• Use GIS and data logging software to analyze and interpret site features.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers and environmental scientists to discuss and plan projects.
• Conduct geological and geophysical studies to support regional development, site selection, and development of public works projects.
• Manage and monitor geology-related aspects of projects to ensure timely completion, budget adherence, and compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and the development and implementation of new technologies and processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field.
• Strong knowledge of geology and its principles.
• Experience in data evaluation, project management, and report preparation.
• Proficiency in GIS and other data logging software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of performing fieldwork under varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license required due to travel to field sites.
