Job Summary

As an Activity Aide
, you will be responsible for executing the daily activity calendar requirements established by the Activity Director. You will continually encourage and maintain the highest quality of life for each resident, ensuring their needs and preferences are met. An Activity Aide plays a vital role in fostering a positive and engaging environment for residents.

Pay Rate

Pay Rate: $15-$17 per hour

Duties And Responsibilities

As an Activity Aide, your responsibilities include:

  • Providing feedback to the Activity Director to monitor the achievement of facility and program goals through a team approach.
  • Charting daily on each resident’s involvement in activities.
  • Leading interactive activity programs that consistently strive to enhance residents' quality of life.
  • Conducting daily activities on schedules that may vary.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned to ensure resident well-being and engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To succeed as an Activity Aide, you will need:

  • A high school education or equivalent (required).
  • At least 1 year of experience in the healthcare field, volunteering, or personal experience (preferred).
  • The ability to read and write in English.
  • A valid Illinois driver’s license.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Empathy, compassion, understanding, and enthusiasm.
  • A personable, friendly, energetic, and positive demeanor with a sense of humor.
  • The ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and occasionally hostile individuals.
  • Effective communication skills.
Physical Requirements

As an Activity Aide, you must meet the following physical requirements:

  • Ability to push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to lift equipment, supplies, and occasionally move furniture.
  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
