Manufacturing Engineering Assistant

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Assistant to support our engineering team as we expand our customer base and projects. This role is designed to handle day-to-day engineering support tasks, allowing senior engineers to focus on higher-level project and customer work. This opportunity is ideal for a recent high school graduate or early-career candidate with exposure to CAD and an interest in manufacturing and steel fabrication.

• Support Manufacturing Engineers with daily engineering tasks.
• Use CAD software to pull and review files and navigate drawings.
• Take measurements and dimensions.
• Assist with manufacturing process documentation and support.
• Work with steel material specifications and basic fabrication concepts.
• Enter and retrieve data within the ERP system (training provided).
• Perform general computer-based tasks to support engineering and production.
• Help manage engineering workload related to new projects and customers.

• Experience with CAD software.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Previous experience in manufacturing.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic CAD experience.
• Ability to read, navigate, and dimension drawings is preferred.

• Comfortable working on a computer daily.
• Interest in manufacturing and engineering support work.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, shop-focused environment.

The position is located in a very rural area with a clean office environment. The role will require occasional presence on the shop floor but not frequently. The facility maintains a clean and organized setting. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pontiac, IL.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
