We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing and machining operations in Pontiac, IL. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing processes, production improvement, engineering drawings, time studies, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze manufacturing processes, production methods, workflow, and equipment utilization.
- Conduct time, motion, and method studies to establish standard production rates.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and manufacturing processes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Develop manufacturing layouts, workflow diagrams, routing plans, and material-handling processes.
- Support production planning based on workforce capabilities, machine capacity, and production schedules.
- Review production records, worker logs, processing sheets, and quality documentation.
- Monitor manufacturing and machining operations to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Analyze production data and prepare reports, charts, graphs, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve production issues.
- Identify bottlenecks, process deviations, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support initiatives related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, quality improvement, and process efficiency.
- Use CAD and other engineering software to create or modify sketches, layouts, and engineering drawings.
- 5-7 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience.
- Manufacturing and/or machining environment experience.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Experience with CAD or engineering-related software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and attention to detail.
- Ability to make engineering sketches, drawings, and common engineering calculations.
