Do you enjoy detailed clerical work that supports fairness and efficiency in the justice system? As a Juvenile Court Support Clerk, you’ll play an essential role in keeping court operations running smoothly by preparing, processing, and reviewing legal documents related to juvenile court cases. You’ll assist attorneys, the public, and court staff, ensuring all records are accurate, complete, and in compliance with court rules and laws.

- Prepare and process court documents to arrange hearings, update case files, and finalize orders.
- Review legal paperwork for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with court procedures and laws.
- Assist attorneys, judges, and the public by providing information on legal processes and case status.
- Maintain case files and utilize court software to input, track, and retrieve case‑related information.
- Contribute to the fair administration of justice by ensuring accurate and timely processing of court cases.

Minimum QualificationsMust be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) Test.
Have had at least two (2) years of full‑time clerical work experience in a court setting.
Essential Job FunctionsAnswer public inquiries concerning legal procedures for Juvenile/Adoption Services; collect and deliver fees for petitions to the Treasurer's Office; mail certified copies of legal papers; prepare detention and custody orders; prepare court schedules.
Assist in collecting receipts, records and deposit fees for petitions and certified copies with the Treasurer's Office as needed to ensure the proper processing of adoptions.
Record daily statistics regarding adoptions as required by law and Court policy, including all hearings, requests for information, adoption orders, petitions and completed adoptions to prepare monthly, bi‑annual and special compilations for the supervisor and the state.
Log important information in adoption cases such as date of adoption petition, hearing dates and orders to monitor the progress of each case.
Assist in answering written requests for information including mailing petitions, information lists on adoption procedures, etc., as requested.
Dictate directions for typing by the word processing unit, of moderately complex transfer, consent and rehearing petitions from information on complaints, information provided by assistant prosecutors and/or information provided by caseworkers.
Prepare and type moderately complex court orders and related forms including summonses, subpoenas, waivers, temporary detention and/or temporary custody orders, transfer orders, certification of documents, letters and detention and/or custody orders on cases transferred to other counties to be signed by judges and referees.
Record orders signed by the Judge and related documents on the proper recording cards to ensure accurate official court records.
