General Summary $37,790- $50,632 This position is onsite. Are you a friendly, detail-oriented professional who enjoys helping people while keeping operations organized and running smoothly? The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Results Program is seeking an Office Support Clerk to serve as the first point of contact for clients. In this role, you’ll provide essential front desk and administrative support while ensuring accurate records, professional service, and a welcoming environment.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Greet visitors and clients and serve as the first point of contact for the program
- Collect payments and handle related documentation
- Manage a busy multi-line phone system and direct calls appropriately
- Verify client information and perform accurate data entry
- Maintain and update multiple databases and confidential records
- Answer questions regarding site rules, testing procedures, and program policies
- Provide general administrative and customer service support to staff and clients
- Work in a people-focused role where professionalism and service make a difference

- Use your organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Enjoy a part-time schedule that includes weekend and holiday hours, with some weekday coverage as needed
- Build valuable experience in administrative support, records management, and client services
- Be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) Test.
- Have had at least six (6) months of full‑time clerical work experience.
- Pass the total examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.
- Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
- When employed in the Sheriff’s Office, must submit to immunizations as required, as well as to tuberculin skin tests or chest x‑rays at County expense.
- A background investigation will be conducted covering an evaluation of employment, school, home, criminal, military, or other personal records.
- Any conviction or convictions for moving traffic violations, accidents, non-moving traffic violations, or violations of other laws will be reviewed by the Sheriff’s Office before an applicant can be appointed.
- Information obtained during the background investigation will be considered in the hiring decision.
- Convictions of the Domestic Violence Statute will be a disqualifying factor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION- Greets, registers, and assists clients and the public in filling out forms, questionnaires, and applications.
- Refers clients and forwards messages to proper parties.
- Responds to various inquiries by phone, email, and in person, using knowledge of the computer system and paper files to research and retrieve information.
- Confers with division personnel as needed to provide complete responses.
- Composes and types general letters and memoranda from rough drafts or general instructions, involving the assembly of data from computer and paper file or record sources.
- Inputs text and data to computer database forms using correct printed source documents or scanned bar code information.
- Reviews information for accuracy and corrects as required.
