Our Client is seeking an experienced Commercial Concrete Superintendent to lead daily field operations for large-scale commercial foundation and structural concrete projects throughout the Pontiac, Michigan area. The ideal candidate will be a proven field leader with extensive commercial concrete construction experience and a strong understanding of foundations, structural concrete, formwork, rebar, concrete placement, scheduling, and jobsite safety. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily field operations from site preparation through project completion.
Supervise foremen, laborers, concrete finishers, equipment operators, and subcontractors.
Oversee commercial foundations, structural concrete, slabs, walls, footings, and elevated concrete work.
Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, deliveries, and schedules to maximize field productivity.
Develop and maintain project schedules while ensuring work progresses according to established timelines.
Monitor field production and take corrective action to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Ensure concrete work meets project specifications, quality standards, and client expectations.
Enforce MIOSHA requirements and maintain a strong culture of jobsite safety.
Conduct and participate in jobsite safety meetings and ensure crews follow established safety procedures.
Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and project documentation.
Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, inspectors, owners, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and construction challenges efficiently.
Monitor material deliveries and equipment availability to prevent delays.
Provide field leadership and direction to multiple crews working on active commercial projects.
Maintain strong communication with project stakeholders and provide updates regarding field progress, manpower, schedule, and issues.
Support successful project completion while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 8 years of commercial concrete construction experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Superintendent or senior field leader.
Commercial construction experience is required.
Strong knowledge of commercial foundations and structural concrete construction.
Proven experience with formwork, reinforcing steel/rebar, concrete placement, slabs, walls, footings, and elevated concrete.
Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate multiple crews and subcontractors on active commercial projects.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, field coordination, and project sequencing.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to effectively manage field personnel.
Strong commitment to jobsite safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance.
Working knowledge of applicable Michigan construction safety requirements, including MIOSHA regulations.
