Overview
We are looking for a skilled Hematology Oncology Physician to support outpatient clinic operations on a temporary basis, covering a coverage gap due to ongoing recruitment. The selected physician will deliver expert outpatient care, participate in tumor boards, and collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role is vital in maintaining continuity of care for patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions during a period of transition.
The position commences on January 19, 2026, and concludes on July 31, 2026, with flexible hours aligned to outpatient clinic needs.
Required Skills
- Medical degree from an accredited institution; MD or DO license in Michigan or eligible for licensing
- Proven experience in Hematology and Oncology outpatient care
- Ability to perform hematology and oncology procedures applicable to outpatient settings
- Strong knowledge of Cerner EMR system or similar electronic medical records platforms
- Excellent clinical assessment and diagnosis skills
- Effective communication abilities and team collaboration mindset
- Ability to manage 15-20 outpatient patients daily efficiently
- Participation in tumor board meetings
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary oncology and hematology team
- Familiarity with infusion center procedures and support services
- Prior experience in a similar outpatient oncology setting
Education and Experience
- Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology or eligibility
- At least 2 years of post-residency experience in hematology/oncology outpatient care
- Experience in working with diverse patient populations and complex cases
- Coverage includes clinic and on-call (clinic call only) responsibilities during outpatient hours
- On-call and clinic hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
- Must possess or obtain appropriate state licensure and certifications
- Travel reimbursements (mileage, rental car, hotel) offered up to a $150 cap (excluding taxes and taxes not reimbursed)
- Orientation provided, compensating half of the hourly rate
- No third-party lodging bookings; lodging and travel to be arranged by the provider directly
- Malpractice insurance coverage included in rates
