Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyze, and compile financial data to assist with budget development, amendments, and reporting.
- Prepare and present financial summaries, reports, charts, and materials for leadership, City Council, boards, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in the creation and monitoring of annual and multi-year budgets for municipal operations.
- Manage financial data using spreadsheets, databases, and specialized financial software, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Coordinate meetings and communications between departments, external agencies, consultants, and other partners involved in municipal initiatives.
- Review financial documentation to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Support the development of materials for public meetings, hearings, and presentations.
- Respond promptly to requests for financial information from internal departments, auditors, leadership, and the public.
- Participate in special projects, financial analysis, and research tasks as assigned.
- Maintain organized records and documentation in alignment with public records and retention requirements. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with financial management systems or databases is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of public sector budgeting, accounting principles, and financial reporting practices.
- Understanding of municipal finance operations, including budget preparation and amendments.
- Ability to analyze financial data, create presentations, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
