Description POSITION PURPOSE
  • Director, Clinical Lab Operations for the Trinity Health Oakland (Pontiac) and Livonia hospitals.
  • The Director, Clinical Lab Operations, in conjunction with the Medical Director, directs, plans, organizes, analyzes, develops, and monitors all laboratory services including personnel and technical operations.
  • Collaborates with Medical Staff, Clinical Directors, and Nurse Leaders to coordinate the delivery of laboratory services, with clinical requirements and in the selection and management of the health centers laboratory instruments and related equipment.
Miniumum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience:

    Five years’ experience in a clinical laboratory. Three or more years of leadership experience in a laboratory setting, preferred.
What You Will Do
  • Oversee all lab operations, staffing, resources, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure efficient, high‑quality service.
  • Leads Quality Management and initiates corrective action when needed.
  • Manages operating and capital budgets and reports performance to leadership.
  • Monitors productivity and resource use; recommends adjustments as needed.
  • Oversees implementation and training for laboratory information systems.
  • Plans lab services for new ambulatory buildings, including layout, equipment, and staffing.
  • Manages supply chain and evaluates equipment; recommends replacements or upgrades.
  • Maintains vendor relationships and participates in relevant committees.
  • Hire, develop, evaluate staff.
  • Works with safety‑related departments to maintain a safe work environment.
