TheOpportunity
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a HR Assistant to join our team.
The HR Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the People Development department, with a strong emphasis on HRIS data entry, system transactions, and employee record maintenance.
The HR Assistant:- Enters and maintains transactions in Human Resources Information System (HRIS), including new hires, rehires, job changes, transfers, terminations, etc.
- Supports onboarding transactions within HRIS, including employee profile setup, document tracking, and workflow completion.
- Supports recruiting transactions within HRIS, including requisition creation, and report tracking.
- Updates position, job, and organizational data in HRIS in alignment with approved personnel actions.
- Performs transactions in internal document approval electronic system in support of all employee changes and department payment requests.
- Performs basic file and system audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity within HRIS.
- Maintains and updates personnel files in accordance with company policy and record retention requirements.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding administrative tasks, including coordination with HR, payroll, IT, and managers.
- Reviews, processes and tracks unemployment claims.
- Assists with the administrative coordination of employee events and programs, including scheduling, communications, vendor payments, and supporting logistics as directed by People Development leadership.
- Provides People Development Department support. Answers inquiries both inside and outside the company.
- Performs general administrative duties including scanning, filing, data reconciliation, and special projects.
- Maintains employees’ bulletin boards in an up‑to‑date and legally conforming manner. Responsible for maintaining and posting classified ads, safety, teamwork and substance abuse posters.
- Acts to facilitate good communications between employees and management through interpersonal and professional communications.
- Associate’s degree required; HR‑related coursework preferred.
- 1 – 3 years of administrative support experience; HR or HRIS‑focused preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in data entry with strong computer processing skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Hands‑on experience using UKG Pro Core (formerly Ulti Pro) preferred.
- Knowledge of the basic human resources function and laws.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to follow standardized processes and meet transactional deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- S. citizenship is required
- Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
