Position Overview

The clinical leader works collaboratively with the entire cath lab team to provide optimal care by coordinating the clinical and technical daily activities and personnel involved in all Cath Lab procedures. They manage the flow of scheduled, emergent, and add-on cases daily while anticipating and proactively intervening in issues that will impact that flow, such as staffing and bed capacity. The leader fully functions as a cath lab RN and serves as a resource for staff, physicians, and department directors.

Expected to assist with program development, quality improvement, and patient satisfaction initiatives, and to actively engage staff in required program activities through inclusion and daily communication.

Facility Overview

Our state-of-the-art Heart Catheterization (Cath) and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab delivers comprehensive cardiovascular care. We operate five advanced labs, including one dedicated EP lab, three Cath labs, and one hybrid lab in the OR.

Hybrid OR Capabilities

Our facility includes a cutting-edge Hybrid Operating Room that allows for seamless integration of both Cath and EP procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and procedural efficiency. Our hybrid cases focus on Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Structural Heart procedures, Mitral Valve Repair (MVR), and device explants.

Case Volume
  • Catheterization (Cath) Cases:
    Approximately 10-14 cases daily, including diagnostic and interventional procedures such as coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), stent placement, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), fractional flow reserve (FFR) measurements, chronic total occlusion (CTO) procedures, and STEMI treatment.

  • Coordinates provision of care excellence in collaboration with all care team members.
  • Provides care and oversight to assure patient care reflects respect for patients' rights, dignity, values, cultural preferences, and expressed needs.
  • Demonstrates principles of Relationship‑based Care to cultivate and maintain therapeutic relationships.
  • Uses data and evidence to guide best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Utilizes and assures the integration of technology to support patient care and nursing practice.
  • Utilizes process excellence tools and processes to improve the quality of patient care delivery.
  • Participates in resource planning to advance nursing practice, quality of care, nurse and patient satisfaction.
