SUMMARY:

Our client is a global provider of specialized machinery, automation, processing, assembly, and testing solutions serving the tire and automotive industries. The organization combines engineering, manufacturing, and technical expertise across multiple regions to develop solutions for complex customer applications. The company values long‑term customer relationships, technical expertise, collaboration, and an entrepreneurial approach to solving customer challenges.

Seeking an experienced Technical Account Manager to support and grow relationships with established customers throughout North America. This role is focused on customer retention, account development, technical support, and identifying opportunities within an existing customer base. The ideal candidate will understand capital equipment, industrial machinery, or automation and be comfortable working with technical and commercial contacts within tire manufacturing environments. This is a relationship‑driven position rather than a traditional “hunter” role.

Success will come from understanding customer needs, maintaining strong relationships, coordinating internal resources, and identifying opportunities to expand existing accounts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with existing tire manufacturing customers.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned accounts and ongoing projects.
  • Understand customer operations, equipment needs, production challenges, and future requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for additional equipment, upgrades, service, automation, and related solutions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and service teams to address customer needs.
  • Support proposals, quotations, technical discussions, and commercial negotiations.
  • Review customer specifications, equipment requirements, and AutoCAD drawings as needed.
  • Conduct customer visits, business reviews, technical presentations, and equipment discussions.
  • Maintain regular communication throughout the sales, installation, and post‑installation process.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address issues before they become problems.
  • Maintain accurate account and opportunity information within the company's CRM.
  • Participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and customer events as appropriate.
  • Share customer feedback and market intelligence with leadership and internal teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5+ years of technical account management, technical sales, capital equipment, industrial machinery, or automation experience.
  • Experience working with tire manufacturers or within the tire manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of industrial equipment, manufacturing processes, and technical applications.
  • Ability to understand customer specifications, technical requirements, AutoCAD drawings, and industrial machinery concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to build long‑term customer relationships and expand existing accounts.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Comfortable working with engineering, manufacturing, operations, purchasing, and executive customer contacts.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing customer relationships independently in a remote environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 15–20%, primarily throughout North America.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience with tire uniformity, grading, testing, wheel & tire processing machinery, or related automation.
  • Existing relationships within the tire manufacturing industry.
  • Experience supporting complex, long‑cycle capital equipment projects.
  • Experience working with engineering and manufacturing teams on custom equipment or automation solutions.
  • Experience working with international customers and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of tire manufacturing processes, equipment, and industry trends.
