** General Summary**$75,827-$99,784 This position is onsite.
Are you ready to put your plumbing and pipe fitting expertise to work on projects that make a real impact? In this role, you’ll take on advanced repairs, modifications, and upgrades, in addition to lead service replacements in residential homes. You’ll use your technical skills and judgment to assess each job, estimate labor needs, and determine the right tools, materials, and equipment to get the work done efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
This position will include on-call assignments. Proficiency with current Countywide and department-specific software is essential for completing tasks and maintaining accurate records.
What You’ll Do:
• Lead challenging repair, alteration, and modernization projects.
• Estimate labor materials, and equipment needs to complete work efficiently.
• Identify and resolve difficult maintenance issues as they arise.
• Conduct safety assessments and apply proper safety protocols.
• Assist with facility inspections to evaluate deficiencies and ensure code compliance.
• Provide expert input on emergency maintenance and long-term repair strategies.
• Use Countywide software systems to track and complete your assignments.
• Be available for on-call duties, as assigned.

** Minimum Qualifications
** EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must possess a current Master or Journeyman plumber's license issued by the Michigan State Board of Plumbing or by a state approved agency.
Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.
Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.
Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must maintain a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.
Must maintain a current Master or Journeyman Plumber license or certificate, issued by the Michigan Department of Labor or a state approved agency.
SUPERVISION EXERCISEDLeads lower level maintenance employees. Checks work, trains, assists, and instructs employees.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Plans, installation by studying blueprints and work sketches to determine plumbing materials needed for the most economical job.
Reviews existing and proposed plumbing plans and details.
Coordinates with community representatives as required including plumbing permits.
Lays out, installs, inspects, and repairs complete plumbing systems, water mains, service lines, sewer lines, valves, gauges, pumps and fixtures as needed for County facility maintenance.
