Job details:
Overhead Door Technician — Install & Repair (Junior to Lead/Foreman) ; OVERTIME!!
Hosted by:
Jillian Morgan
Salary: $25 - $40 per hour
A bit about us:Bring your tools and your work ethic — we'll bring the training, the growth path, and pay that scales with your experience.
Our client is a motivated, fast-growing team specializing in installing, repairing, and maintaining overhead doors and related systems across commercial and construction sites nationwide.
$24–$40/hour depending on experience level and certifications
Junior/apprentice-level candidates typically start near the $24–$28/hr floor
Experienced, certified, or lead/foreman-level technicians — and those in higher cost-of-living Northeast metro markets — can reach $35–$40+/hr.
Overtime is 1.5x after 40 hours (some locations apply overtime after 8:00 PM)
Emergency service calls are paid from call-start until the technician returns home, and on-call rotates among the team.
Why join us?- Comprehensive training opportunities to grow from junior technician toward lead/foreman level.
- A safety-first, craftsmanship-focused environment where your work visibly matters.
- Room to grow — clear pay progression as you build experience and certifications.
- Real variety day to day — install, repair, fabrication, and troubleshooting, not the same task on repeat.
- A team that invests in getting you properly equipped and trained, not just thrown on a job.
You start the day loading the truck and reviewing your job list — a repair call first thing, then an install later in the day. On the repair, you diagnose a worn dock leveler and get it back in service. At the install, you're reading a schematic to make sure a custom sectional door goes in exactly to spec, doing some welding and fabrication to get the fit right.
You wrap the day logging your work, noting any parts you'll need for tomorrow, and checking whether you're on the emergency on-call rotation this week.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair overhead doors — garage, sectional, rolling steel, and related hardware — using hand and power tools.
- Perform glass installation for door panels or windows as needed.
- Conduct welding and fabrication to modify or reinforce door components to spec.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble and install systems.
- Apply construction skills — metal stud framing, carpentry (including trim), and locksmithing — to support installation projects.
- Apply caulking, sealants, and weatherproofing for optimal insulation and durability.
- Perform electrical work related to fixture installation or door system components as required.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including installation logs and schematic diagrams.
- Prior experience on construction sites with a focus on door hanging, fabrication, or mechanical installation.
- Hands‑on knowledge of glass installation, welding, and hand/power tool use.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics and apply mechanical knowledge to overhead door systems.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely with attention to detail.
- Carpentry, electrical, or locksmith experience — a strong plus, especially for the Lead/Foreman tier.
- Access‑control or low‑voltage certification (commands premium pay).
- Valid driver s license with a clean record for travel between job sites.
Junior and apprentice-level technicians typically progress toward experienced and certified technician status, then toward Lead/Foreman roles overseeing smaller crews — and from there, some technicians move into Service Manager positions.
