Electrician – JLL
Join JLL's facilities maintenance team as an Electrician supporting advanced manufacturing operations in Pontiac, MI. This union position operates under the Operating Engineers Local UAW 653 collective bargaining agreement and offers the opportunity to maintain critical manufacturing process equipment, building automation systems, and electrical infrastructure. You'll work in a dynamic industrial environment where your expertise directly contributes to operational excellence and facility reliability.
This role combines hands-on electrical work with building systems maintenance, offering comprehensive UAW benefits and competitive compensation including shift differential.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Maintain and repair manufacturing process equipment including tank farms, dispensing systems, compressed gas storage, thermal oxidizers, and clean room mechanical systems
- Perform electrical maintenance on normal power systems, emergency power systems, UPS systems, pumps, motors, and speed/feed systems; troubleshoot controller programs (Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, Siemens)
- Service building automation systems, calibrate natural gas and water meters, and support HVAC and mechanical systems
- Complete safety PMs, help desk work orders within 24-hour time frames, and environmental PM reporting
- Manage spare parts inventories for critical equipment and maintain general housekeeping in common work areas
- Utilize pre-task planning methods, ensure safety training compliance, and participate in safety concern processes
Required Qualifications:
- Journeyman Electrician certification OR valid State of Michigan Electrician card (non-negotiable)
- Experience with pumps, motors, and speed/feed systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical prints and schematics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with detail-oriented approach
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Current forklift and aerial lift operator's license (or ability to obtain)
- Commitment to attend scheduled training and maintain IPMP compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ten or more years of facility maintenance experience in manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of MAXIMO or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Experience with controller programs including Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, and Siemens
- Familiarity with Class 7 clean room environments and compressed gas systems
- Background in building automation systems, UPS systems, and emergency power operations
- Previous union environment experience
- Associate degree in Electrical Technology or related field
Location:
Pontiac, MI
Work Shift:
3rd Shift (10:00 PM - 6:30 AM) | Initial training period will be 1st Shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM)
Salary/Comp: $43.11/hour + 3rd shift differential
